Synopsis
With reference to figures from Indian mythology such as Putana and Shakti, Crossings examines what it means to be feminine or de-feminised through the contradictions with this complex character. Four performers represent facets of Lady Macbeth in constant conflict to create a fluid performance woven from four strands – verbal, movement, musical and symbolic texts using forms of Kathak, Bharatnatyam and Manipuri dance forms.
