February 18, 2010, New Delhi: FromMarch 2 – 6, the Delhi stage (at Kamani Auditorium and Sriram Centre) will reverberate with the exciting actions of the best from The Mahindra Theatre Festival.

 

This will happen when we see the performances of the 10 finest productions out of the 233 entries from across the country in the META (Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards) this year. Thirteen national awards for excellence in theatre are at stake and to make that selection would be a Grand Jury announced today by META.

They are:

1. Dhritiman Chaterji

2. MS Sathyu

3. Nayantara Sahgal

4. Ranjit Kapoor

5. Seema Biswas

6. Dr Vijaya Mehta

 

These prominent and outstanding personalities from the world of performing arts need no introduction. Their judgment will be final. The awards are being given under 13 different categories ranging from Best Script- writer to Best Director and covering all other production and performance crafts. Vying for these awards will be more than 100 skilled artistes.

 

The capital city is indeed in for an exciting first week of March. The awards night itself will be held on 7th of March at The Taj Mahal Hotel, Mansingh Road and is expected to be an unusually interesting theatrical event.
