Something Like Truth examines one’s relationship with truth, freedom and justice through the voices of four women across different geographies and moments in history. Written by META Lifetime Achievement Award winner, legendary writer and cultural thinker Shanta Gokhale, the play is composed of four monologues that span 19th-century France, early 2000s India, and post-war Sri Lanka in the 2010s.
 
Each woman’s narrative stands alone, yet together they form a tapestry of resistance, vulnerability, and socio-political urgency. The play invites audiences to reflect on how truth is shaped, silenced, or reclaimed, especially in times of unrest and conflict. These intimate, personal accounts offer a rare glimpse into the lived experiences of women navigating structures of power and silence.
